Steven T. Jaffe was born in 1961, and was raised in New Jersey, before relocating to Arizona in 1996, and then moving to Las Vegas in 2001, where he has been practicing since then. Steve attended Colgate University, graduating in 1983, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Steve attended Seton Hall University School of Law, graduating in 1986. During this period, he also served as an Aide to Governor Thomas Kean, in New Jersey, from 1981 until 1985, before becoming a Legal Assistant to the President of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, where he remained through 1987.

Steve is rated as an A-V lawyer by Martindale Hubbell. He first received his license to practice law in New Jersey in 1986, subsequently obtaining licenses to practice law in Arizona in 1996, and in Nevada in 1999. Steve practiced in private firms from 1987 through 1994, before becoming a Senior Trial Attorney for State Farm Insurance’s Claims Litigation Counsel, first in Rutherford, New Jersey, and then in Tucson, Arizona, until 1999. Upon leaving State Farm, Steve became the Managing Attorney for GEICO Insurance in Arizona, opening that office in Tempe, in which position he remained before returning to the private arena in 2001, when he relocated to Las Vegas. He, Michael Hall, and Riley Clayton then formed Hall Jaffe & Clayton, which commenced operations in April 2003.

Steve is a trial attorney who generally practices in the area of civil litigation, primarily defending against tort lawsuits. He typically defends against premises liability lawsuits; negligent security cases; motor vehicle lawsuits, including automobile, trucking, and motorcycle claims; product liability lawsuits; matters involving complex and traumatic injuries; professional liability; and, matters involving punitive damages. He also serves as a court appointed arbitrator, and has recently been named as a Judge Pro Tem in Clark County.

Steve is married to Penny Jaffe, and they have three children.
